Day 3: Jet Lag

Today was pretty relaxed.  Daniel and I slept in (ie couldn't wake up) and then we didn't go into the SNP office until 1:00pm because we had some errands to run--luckily, we found a big Tesco right by our house! It's like the Edinburgh Wal-mart and it's wonderful because everything is so cheap.

We picked up lunch at a little sandwhich shop outside St. Andrew's square and then ate in the square.  It was a beautiful day but still chilly (about 65 degrees).  Everybody kept complaining about how hot it was and kept slathering on spf 50 -- one man even asked if we liked living in the tropics. haha

Right after lunch we went to the SNP office and did some more campaigning. More leaflets and door knocking.  We spent about 3 hours doing that and then they let us go.

We went back to our apartment and made spaghetti for dinner.  Our first home made meal :-) and then headed out for some sight seeing.  Our first stop was Robert Louis Stevenson's house.  It's literally right around the corner from our apartment.  He wrote the book Jekyll and Hyde-- one of Daniel's favorite books.  It's a private residence now.

Then we walked to Calton's Hill.  It's the first public park in Edinburgh and gives an incredible view of the city.  This coming Friday is the Beltane Fire Festival which marks the opening of summer.  Daniel and I will definitely be attending.
