Tuesday & Wednesday-- May 10 & 11 2011

The past couple of days haven't been too exciting.  We started working at Parliament, but because the members themselves are barely getting settled we were placed in the press room and given a lot of busy work. Oh well.  We met the German intern-- Tilo-- and he's a blast.  He loves Americans.  Yesterday after work we went to a pub, ordered cokes, and just hung out.  He doesn't need this internship for his school but he just wanted to improve his English so that's what we help him do by talking.  It's a lot of fun. We learned that his dad is a white asparagus farmer. Random. haha but he invited us over for some! pretty funny. All he wants to do is "drive a big american car."

(Interesting fact:  Because he focuses so much on the English language, he can't hear the difference between the Scottish accent and the American accent. He had no idea that we were American at first! And when we told him that we had a hard time understanding the Scots speak, he laughed for like an hour!)

After that, Daniel and I went dancing again.  It wasn't as good as last week because the band turned the traditional music into rock halfway through, but we still love the dances and had fun.  There were a lot of stinky European men there this time, and with my height--I'm at armpit level.  It was really bad.  I almost barfed like 40 times. OH! Funny story... So I got really tired and sat out for a few dances. Daniel wanted to keep dancing so he danced with some other girls and... I had to stake my claim afterwords.  They were ALL over him! That's the last time I'll let him dance with the local girlys! (I think he felt pretty good afterwords though. haha He got lots of hugs and kisses from me in front of them).
Me dancing with an old man

This guy comes every week.  He's a champ.
And today Daniel and I went to Parliament, watched the members get sworn in, went grocery shopping, cleaned out the fridge and watched a movie.  Pretty laid back.

In other news... we bought plane tickets to Dublin, Ireland for 1 pound in June (but with the hidden fees, it ended up being 25 pounds each) AND we are getting tickets to a futebol (?-- soccer) game for Saturday.
